How to Access NDIS Funding

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded scheme designed to help people with disability achieve their goals. 

Here's a general guide on how to access NDIS funding:

1. Determine Eligibility

• Age: You must be aged between 7 and 64.
• Disability: You must have a significant and permanent disability that affects your daily activities. 
• Reasonable and Necessary Supports: You must require ongoing support to live an independent life.

2. Submit an Access Request

You can submit an access request in three ways:

• Online: Through the NDIS website.
• By Phone: Call the NDIS Information Line on 1800 800 110.
• By Mail: Send a completed Access Request Form to the NDIS.

3. NDIS Planning Process

If your access request is approved, you'll enter the NDIS planning process. This involves:   

• Functional Assessment: A professional will assess your functional capacity and support needs 
• Goal Setting: You'll work with your planner to set goals for your future.

• Plan Development: Your planner will develop an NDIS plan, outlining the supports and funding you'll receive. 

4. Choose ADACSS for Your Services 

With your NDIS plan, you can choose the supports and services that best meet your needs from ADACSS Services. This might include:

• ADACSS Support Workers: To assist with daily living tasks.   
• ADACSS Therapy: Any allied health services such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, or physiotherapy.   
• Assistive Technology: To help with communication or mobility 

5. ADACSS as Registered NDIS Provider

You can choose ADACSS as your registered NDIS providers to deliver your supports.  

6. Manage Your Plan 

You'll need to manage your plan, or as Registered Plan manager, ADACSS can help you free of charge which includes:

• Budgeting: Tracking your spending and ensuring you stay within your plan limits.
• Reviewing Your Plan: Regularly reviewing your plan to ensure it meets your changing needs. 
• Resolving Issues: Addressing any issues or concerns with your providers or the NDIS.
